TREELINE DISTRIBUTION renews its backing for the Lau Haizetara Documentary Co-Production Forum, granting, from among the chosen projects, a Distribution and Festival Consultancy Prize

treeline retocadoThe Lau Haizetara Documentary Co-Production Forum and the Treeline Distribution strengthen their successful collaboration for another year. They will grant, for the fifth year running, the distribution and festival consultancy award, consisting of 2 consultancy sessions on the project. A first consultancy session during the documentary development stage and a second session once the documentary is finished.

This initiative aims to offer the best commercial distribution strategy to follow (selection of distribution company or sales agent, television, internet, cinema, etc.) and suggest a guide to which are the most appropriate festivals, depending on the content and style of the documentary. Elena Mera, representing Treeline Distribution, will be attending the pitching sessions which will take place on 28th September, in the Kursaal Congress Centre in San Sebastián. She will evaluate the documentaries’ quality, subject matter and treatment in terms of their potential sale to different channels around the world and will aim to identify the best strategy for them.

TREELINE DISTRIBUTION is an independent sales agent specialised in the international distribution of documentaries. It is active around the world and in media (TV, theatrical, home video, digital platforms, etc.) that carefully selects the titles to represent, taking into account key internationalisation criteria, the fruit of the experience accumulated over many years of working in the industry.

In 2016 this prize was awarded to the project “Impulso” (France), produced by Les Films De La Butte. Under the direction of Emilio Belmonte, the documentary tells the story of dancer Rocío Molina and her fusion with contemporary dance. It accompanies her in the intimacy of her work, between France and Spain, to understand how she faces the challenge of flamenco dancing in the 21st century, and it brings us closer to the universe of this global artist who was a child prodigy and is today a renowned dancer despite her youth. For three months, from September to November, the film covers all stages of the creation of this new piece until it is premièred in November in Paris. This journey is the guiding thread in the film.

The winner of this edition will be revealed at the end of the 13th Forum of Co-Production, which will be held within the framework of the San Sebastian Film Festival from the 26th to the 28th September 2017.
