This prize, which is the result of the renewal of the 2022 Agreement between EPE-IBAIA / Association of Producers, organisers of the Forum, and Elkargi makes clear this financial institution’s commitment to the audiovisual sector in general and in particular that of the Basque Country.
So much so that, in tandem with the development of this collaboration, Elkargi has taken part in the financing of a sizeable number of cinema productions (feature films, short films and TV series) as well as ancillary services, to the tune of more than 30 million euros. A significant amount at this time when it is important to be able to rely on the commitment and collaboration of financial institutions and agents to consolidate a stable relationship framework to guarantee the viability of audiovisual projects.
From now on and with the aim of highlighting the fiscal measures approved by the Basque Country’s three regions, in addition to its traditional financial services, Elkargi is now offering the audiovisual industry a new comprehensive service using taxation as a financing source. In both cases the money has the Elkargi guarantee, minimising the operation’s risks. It offers legal and financial security for producers and is more attractive to investors. Therefore, Elkargi is facilitating the creation of new projects.
At the last edition of the Forum, the award was won by PULSO by Victoria Alvares and Quentin Delaroche, produced by Revoada Produçoes (Brazil). It is a documentary painting a fragmentary portrait of a social movement built with the sweat and blood of thousands of activists. A sensory mosaic of stories about life, land occupation, protests, hunger strikes, losses and achievements taking us from the old sugar cane fields to the outskirts of Recife. A story of strength, movement and resistance.
This prize is in addition to the IBAIA – Bilibin Circular Prize in environmental consultancy, which was created with the twin aims of raising the awareness of companies with regard to the need to begin the ecological transition process and boosting compliance with the necessary requirements which different administrations are establishing to gain access to their corresponding aid packages in this field.
We would like to remind you that the 20th edition of the San Sebastian LAU HAIZETARA Forum, which will be held over 23, 24 and 25 September within the framework of the San Sebastian Film Festival, will see the announcement of the names of the winners of this edition at the industry prizegiving ceremony on Wednesday 25 September at 20:00 at the Kursaal Congress Centre.
